The Composites Research Group (CRG) has is
main research focus in two areas: Fiber Reinforced Concrete (FRC)
and Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) materials for the structural
strengthening and rehabilitation. Since 1996 the CRG is carrying
out experimental, analytical and numerical research in FRC and
FRP areas. The permanent scientific staff is composed by four
members. Several PhD and MSc students, as well as, Post-Doc
researchers have done an important contribution for the high
quality of the produced scientific research. The researchers can
find in the CRG the necessary facilities to develop
experimental, numerical and analytical research. Since the
creation of the CRG, several experimental testing set ups were
proposed, and numerical models for the nonlinear analysis of
concrete structures were developed. This patrimony provides to
the present and coming researchers the necessary support for
assuring the research quality level self-imposed in the CRG. In
resulting of the visibility of the carried out research, the
industry is inviting the CRG to take part in applied research
projects.
